Would you drag your kid back and forth 150 miles a day?
I got accepted to the nursing program at a wonderful school that is 70 miles away from me. I got another gas saving car, and I am all set... but it is looking like my plans will be ruined because my husband refuses to let me take him with me. My stepdaughter happens to work at the daycare at the school, so it would be perfect, since I will not let my son go to daycare, but since she works there, I know he would be looked after. He has put his foot down. He will not let me take him on a trip that long everyday, which I see his point, but I have worked HARD to be a nurse, and I want to finish. If I don't go now, I won't be able to go for another 3 years when my son goes to school, and some of my classes I will have to take over. There is nobody here to watch him. Nobody. I couldn't afford to put him in a daycare here from 6am until 8pm at night, and none even offer that. My husband works from 5am until 10pm most nights, so he can't help. What would you do? Wait 3 years and have to retake some of the classes you already took, or drive your child with you 5 days a week for 4 semesters?
