Can a 12 year old child in Texas decide to visit the other parent for the summer?

I have a 12 year old stepdaughter whom my husband has custody of. He has had custody for 7 years now. Her biological mother has never been around till last summer. Now that my stepdaughter is getting older she wants to start having her for summer vacations but my stepdaughter does not want a relationship with her. Can the mother force her to spend the summer with her if daughter is not comfortable with that? Last summer the mother spent her time trying to convince her that if she would take her in front of a judge, to please convince the judge that she wants her mother. The child does not want her mother, because she knows that mother wants her back for child support reasons.
