College Question Concerning Funeral Services?

I am a senior in high school and would like to go to college for mortuary/funeral services. What I've been doing is reading up on a few colleges near me, and what I've found is a little confusing. There is an all around license/degree that says you can embalm/prepare the body for burial that is good for the entire United States, but the actual funeral services degrees/licenses seem to be good only for the state you've gone to college in. Can someone please clarify this for me? I will most likely not be living in the same state after I graduate college, so this is important to me. Thank you.
